I'm Beth — the voice behind BeeDee Travel Explorer.

I am based in the beautiful Southwest of England, and a passionate traveller who believes the best journeys are the ones you actually remember.

From UK escapes to Iguazu Falls, Zanzibar to the Italian Lakes — I share honest, well-researched travel inspiration and experiences I have personally road-tested, for the experienced explorer.

After years of fast-paced life and weekends that disappeared too quickly, I made a deliberate shift. I stopped collecting passport stamps and started collecting experiences — slower, richer, more intentional travel that fits around a full life rather than fighting against it.

My Travel Experience

Over the past year alone we've explored Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, and the breathtaking Iguazu Falls, wandered the streets of Montevideo and Porto, unwound in Koh Samui and the Italian Lakes, and taken in the energy of Miami, Toronto and Milan — with a beach escape to Grand Cayman and a memorable stay in Dubai and Zanzibar thrown in for good measure, covering glamour, warmth, and genuine discovery. Next up?

Edinburgh, Madrid, Seattle, the Canadian Rockies, Vancouver and Alaska. The list never gets shorter, and I wouldn't have it any other way

My Travel Blog

You'll find honest guides to UK escapes from the Southwest, thoughtful takes on slow travel for people who value quality over quantity, and a practical lens on how AI and technology are genuinely changing the way we plan and experience the world. I'm also navigating travel in my fifties — and finding, frankly, that it keeps getting better.

I write for people like me: experienced, curious, a little time-poor, and done with travel content that assumes you're twenty-two with a backpack and nowhere to be.

A perfect afternoon in the Douro Valley 🍷

The Picnic Experience at Quinta do Bomfim is everything. Deck chairs on the lawn, a hamper packed with cold French onion soup, cheese and chorizo sandwiches, salted cod, olives, hummus, orange cake — and a bottle of chilled Altano White overlooking the river and terraced vineyards.

We walked through the spring vines after lunch and finished with a glass of Dow's 10-Year-Old Tawny. The whole quinta is just minutes on foot from Pinhão station.

Book at least 24 hours ahead. Worth every second
